Rectovesical pouch
- between the rectum and bladder
- it is the lowest point in the peritoneum of the male
- ascites and blood accumulate here
What are the pouches formed by the peritoneum in the female?
- Rectouterine pouch
- between the rectum and uterus
- it is the lowest point in the peritoneum of the female
- blood and ascites accumulate here
- abdominal ectopic pregnancies occur here - Vesicouterine pouch
- between the bladder and uterus
