Stabil

A

Single fracs from eld falls often stable and req few wk rest.
2 or more fracs (with one above lev of hip) means ring unstable. Means serious inj and over 25% have int inj.

Abdo distens
Loin bruising
Perineal or scrotal haematoma
PV bleed
Palpab haematoma or frac line on PR/PV exam (rectal inj comm 5% and assoc with spesis risk).

Mech

A

Anteropost comp causes open book or sprung pelvis frac.
Lat comp causes windswept pelvis.
Vertical shear causes malgaigne or bucket handle frac.
Combined mech forces causes complex frac.
