ALL:
- bladder,
- rectum,
- anus,
- part of the descending colon.
FEMALES:
- uterus,
- fallopian tubes,
- urethra
- uterine body
- cervix
- ovaries.
MALES:
- urethra
- ductus deferens
- accessory sex organs.
What is the cranial section of the pelvic cavity lined with?
peritoneum (therefore it is referred to as the peritoneal segment of the pelvic cavity).

1) rectogenital pouch (excavatio rectogenitalis)
2) vasicogenital pouch (excavatio vesicogeitalis)
3) pubovescical pouch (excavatio pubovesicalis)
Explain the pubovesical pouch separation.
- separated into 2 niches
- by the median ligament of the bladder
Explain the role of peritoneum.
- pads and insulates organs,
- helps hold organs in place
- secretes a lubricating fluid to reduce friction when organs rub against each other.
