A

needed before piece of work can be published to validate its accuracy/validity, suggest improve
any problem areas for improvement are highlighted as necessary

criticisms of peer reviews (4)

A

not unbias-> research world is small so researcher and research is known by most
plagiarism-> reviewers accused of this + not accepting work so own can be published first
ability to publish in control of elites-> dont like change/revolutionary ideas so reject which dont agree with
takes lot of time-> slow process
