Q

What are the strengths of this theory?

A

Kidd said that there’s evidence that instilled hope in prisoners
Barrenger et al said that mentors have better credibility as they can relate to the mentees
Boyceet et al said it provides security to youth with inconsistent/dangerous authority figures ( better role model)
Cheap to implement as the mentors are volunteers
Re-offending rates went from 56% to 18%
