dev. dysplasia of hip - clinical picture and Tx
- uneven gluteal fold, clicks and easily dislocated
- pavik harness

- little toddlers with febrile illness that refuse to move the hip - high ESR
- aspirate hip and remove pus
acute hematogenous osteomyeltis
after febrile illness
Xray shows nil
need bone scan and ABx
genu varum
normal to 3
after 3 most common is blount disease
- medial proximal growth plate disease - surgery
genu valgus
normal ages 4-8
osgood-schlatter disease
- teenagers with persisten pain over right tubercle
- immobilze for 2-6 weeks in cast
club foot
at birth, both feet runed inward
- serial casting can fix many
scoliosis
most common in teenage girls
- look with back flexed
may fix with braces, otherwise surgery
only 2 fractures that cause major issues in kids
- supracondylar fracture of the humerous
2. fractures involving the growth plate
supracondylar fracture of the humerous issues and Tx
- hyperextension of elbow when fall on hand
- vessel and nerve injury can be issues
- volkmann contractures
issues with growth plate fractures
if two growth plates are separated, then need to be very careful to realign the two
