- firm rubbery mass that moves
- FNA acceptable to Dx
- remove if wanted
giant juevenile fibroadenoma
seen in very young women and should be removed to avoid distortion of the breast
cytosarcoma phyloides
late 20s
- become very large but remain mobile
- Core or excisional Bx is needed
- must be removed
mammary dysplasia/ fibrocystic disease
30-40yo
masses that come and go with period
- if come and go, mammogram sufficitent
- if aspiration - if fluid comes and goed away, that’s it
intraductal papiloma
young women with bloody niple discharge
- need mammogram and galactogram to guide surgical excision
breast abscess
only in lactating women
- need InD and wall should be removed for Bx
what is needed to for breast mass in older women
mammogram
- core Bx and if negative incsional Bx
- may want excisional Bx if esp suspicious
Tx during preg
same but no Rads and no chemo in first trimester
infiltrating ductal carcinoma
the most common type of breast CA
ductal in situ
cannot met, but simple mastectomy reccomended
drug for hormone receptor + disease
tamoxifen
