- Zero Reject Concept “No Child can be excluded”
- Must accommodate for individual’s need via IEP (parent can request specific needs for IEP)

- Part B for school-aged children (3-21 y.o.)
- Part C for children from Birth to 3 y.o.
- Most recent amendment in 2004 mandates funding in catholic and private schools for disabled individuals
- Mandates that individuals receive a FAPE (free appropriate public education)
- Grant based program by the United States government

- Law preventing discrimination against individual’s with disabilities
- Employers and schools must provide reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities

- Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is a national law that protects qualified individuals from
discrimination based on their disability (similar to ADA)

What is the difference between multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary?
A
- Multidisciplinary = many disciplines, but not necessarily interacting
- Interdisciplinary = across disciplines, but with strict boundaries
- Transdisciplinary = across disciplines, enforce others’ boundaries
