DDx of bulging fontanelles?
Meningitis, Hydrocephalus, SDH, Pb poisoning
Lytes in an infant w/ CAH?
low Na+ with High K+
Ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency (OTC): genetics and Dx?
X-linked; most common urea cycle d/o. hyperammonemia and elevated urine orotic acid.
Names 6 s/sx of congenital hypothyroidism.
feeding problems, contstipation large fontanels, hypotonia, large tongue, coarse cry, coarse fascies, macroglossia, mottled skin and frequently an umbilical hernia
Presentation of infant botulism?
presents in the first year w/ hypotonia, lethargy, constipation, weak cry and can eventually -> respiratory failure. Have absent DTRs.
Most dommon urea cycle d/o? Presenting lab values?
OTC (ornitihine transcarbamylase) deficiency - >Hyperammonemia and elevated urine orotic acid
