LOC: # 1 question, if yes send to ER

vomiting/speech,
when to referral for head injury?
altered state of consciousness persistent vomiting lethargy blood or bruising from ear LOC >1 min
PE for head injury
soft spongy swelling in infants less than 12 months old that lasts longer than 12 hours suggests presence of skull fracture
when should imaging be done for head injury
with there are nurologic signs
- x ray
- CT scan
Treatment for head injury:
Reassure
watched for altered conciousness
Arnica200c immediately
Nat sulph for long term
Nose trauma when to exam
extream pain
obvious deformity
bleeding for 20 min
follow up. 2-3 weeks to straiten nose
Treatment for nose bleeding
Stop bleeding: press on nostrils
Apply ice
Arnica: homeopathic
imaging for nose trauma
ususally not for under 2
Wait 2-3 weeks to correct after swelling
Eye trauma when see immediately
persistence red or tear
severe pain >30 minutes
unequil pupils
penetrating injuries
treat for eye trauma
Irrigate with lots of water if foreign substance
Ice
Calendula or euphrasia solution
Homeopathy : euphrasia
Bruising around Eye: arnica, symphytum, Ledum
Lacerations Immediated examin
Gaping laceration longer than 1/4 in
Persistent bleeding
persistent pain
potential nerve or tendon involvement (hands and feet especially)
Treatment of laceraton
