Newborn boy with bulge on posterior neck…soft and fluctuant w/o sign of infection… most likely diagnosis?
How to diagnose? Treatment and Indications for treatment?
A
lymphatic malformation or cystic hygroma
[benign, cyst collection lined with lymphatic endothelium]
Dx: prenatal ultrasound
Tx: complete surgical resection is definitive treatment
- Indications: airway compromise, infection, hemorrhage, deformity/cosmesis.

What is the diagnostic criteria on ultrasound for hypertrophic pyloric stenosis?
A
Pyloric wall thickness > 3mm
Pyloric channel length > 16mm
