Anterior Neck Triangle (Boundaries and Content)

A
Anterior = midline of neck
Posterior = SCM
Inferior/Apex = Sternal notch
Superior/Base = lower border of body of mandible

Content = carotid sheath

Base = middle 3rd of clavicle
Apex = intersection of SCM and Tranpezius

A

Local disease ( no regional or distant mets)

Tx = surgery or radiation acceptible (depends on location/morbidity of resection)

Tx = Surgery (WLE + MRND) followed by radiation /- chemotherapy\

A

Diagnosis: squamous cell cancer (early stage)

Treatment:
- Wide local excision with at least 3mm margin (preferred)
[Radiation not used unless clinically evident neck disease]
