explain treponemal vs non treponemal

A

treponemal tests start with TP, look at this first

if positive either they have syphyllis or had it
if negative, theyve never had it

then look at non treponemal

if both are positive the infection is active
if its negative and treponemal is positive it means there was previous infection was cleared
