Parts of the Eye Flashcards
A structure in the eye that produces aqueous humor and helps control the shape of the lens for focusing.
Ciliary Body
The nerve that transmits visual information from the retina to the brain.
Optical Nerve
Fibers that connect the ciliary body to the lens, holding it in place and aiding in its shape adjustment.
Suspensory Ligament
A transparent structure in the eye that focuses light onto the retina.
Lens
The tough, white outer layer of the eyeball that provides structure and protection.
Sclera
The clear, front part of the eye that refracts light and protects the inner structures.
Cornea
The opening in the center of the iris that regulates the amount of light entering the eye.
Pupil
The colored part of the eye that controls the size of the pupil and the amount of light that enters.
Iris
The inner layer of the eye that contains photoreceptor cells and converts light into neural signals for vision.
