it’s a present tense and it is happening now.

The past tense
Stuff that already happened, you can make words in past tense if you add “-ed” “-d”
e.g.,

The future tense
A sentence that indicates that it is happening in the future.
To make it a future tense you just need to add “will” before the verb.
You can also use “is going to” to make it a future tense.
e.g.,
I will eat this cupcake.
Lorraine is going to visit Canada.
Linking verb
