Q
What was (Gallant’s, 2003) view on second home ownership?
A
- He says it brings urban wealth into an area with rural poverty
- Unlike urban gentrification - second-home investments are not a fight against the rich vs the rich as is seen in most cities.

A
- Older people/ people who buy homes here tend to have a greater level of ‘accumulated wealth’ - want to be spending their time out of the bussel of the city
- There is a greater amount of leisure time, especially in retirement (Welson,2010)
