what is papilloedema?
A
optic disc swelling caused by increased ICP, almost always bilateral

what are the features of papilloedema that can be seen on fundoscopy?
A
- venous engorgement
- blurring of optic disc margin
- elevation of optic disc
- loss of optic cup
- Paton’s lines: concentric/radial retinal lines cascading from optic disc

what are the causes of papilloedema?
A
- SOL: neoplastic, vascular
- malignant HTN
- idiopathic intracranial HTN
- hydrocephalus
- hypercapnia
