blood in the anterior chamber of the eye

A
raised intraocular pressure → glaucoma

how can a hyphema lead to glaucoma?
A
blood (erythrocytes) causes a blockage of the angle and trabecular meshwork → blocks drainage of aqueous humour → increased IOP

how do you manage a pt with ocular trauma with hyphema?
A
admit pt, strict bed rest - excessive movement can redisperse blood that had previously settled
