  • bilateral sx: conjuctivtal erythema, conjunctival swelling (chemosis)
  • itch prominent
  • eyelids swollen
  • hx atopy
  • seasonal (due to pollen) or perennial (due to dust mite, washing powder or other allergens)

A

1st-line: topical / systemic antihistamines

2nd-line: topical mast-cell stabilisers e.g. sodium cromoglicate and nedocromil
