Q

What is the process of glucoregulation

A

Glucoregulation is the maintenance of steady levels of glucose in the blood stream

The hypothalamus and pituitary gland are responsible for blood glucoregulation

Hormones are released by the pancreas, these hormones are insulin and glucose

This process is closely related to the dietary intake of nutrients

The hypothalamus monitors blood glucose levels and detects changes. This process is called negative feedback

Insulin works to reduce the amount of glucose in the blood by promoting the absorption of glucose into the liver, converting glucose to glucagon.
