Pancreatic Carcinoma Presentation
A
- Vague and nonspecific
- Epigastric discomfort, dull back ache
- Painless, progressive, obstructive jaundice
- Tumours in body and tail much less likely to cause obstruction
- Presentation may be due to paraneoplastic diseases e.g. thromboembolic
- Pancreatitis may be presentation
- WL, anorexia
- Steatorrhoea, mass
- Corvoisier’s sign

Pancreatic Carcinoma Management
A
- Surgical resection offers cure however only 10-20% are resectable
- Unresectable disease
- Palliative
- Coeliac plexus block may help to control pain which can be severe and resistant
