What are the three types of training pain?
Exercise-induced pain - pain because of muscle overload.
Muscle soreness - after training pain
Injury - a thread that require medical attention
Objective pain
can be objectively observed or measured through external observation or medical tests.
increased heart rate, blood pressure, swelling or visible physical injuries.
subjective pain
individualized reaction
based on personal perception
pain threshold, emotions, culture, psychological state and previous experiences with pain.
Acute pain
usually short-term, response to a specific warning signal of tissue damage, such as an injury.
Chronic pain
persistent or recurring
lasts at least three to six months
njuries, inflammation, nerve damage, medical conditions
Pain in practice
you should take pain seriously as a warning signal from the body
Pain can lead to compensation patterns
ask the client questions to gain more insight
stay focused on continuing to move, as movement promotes blood flow, can reduce pain and promote recovery.
If in doubt, refer your client to other experts.
