Milo Coaching Method Flashcards
movement quality, how to maximise,
When a client performs an exercise with high movement quality, there are minimal energy leaks and the body is used effectively and efficiently. We aim to minimize energy leaks and, therefore, focus our coaching on what we want to see. We observe the energy leaks, but don’t name them. In our interventions, we reverse this and focus on the checkpoints. These are the things we want to see in the exercise that maximize movement quality. Checkpoints are the guidelines for exercises and are specific to the starting position, the end position and what happens in between, during the exercise.
Intention
Intention refers to the goal of the set or the exercise form. This includes carrying out an exercise for a certain number of repetitions at a specific intensity. We can also add other factors such as movement speed, rest or tempo
The coaching cycle
- Observe, 2.Think of an intervention, 3.Apply the intervention, 4.Provide the feedback on the implementation of the intervention.
