αὐτίκα δ᾽ Ἠὼς ἦλθεν ἐύθρονος, ἥ μιν ἔγειρε
Ναυσικάαν ἐύπεπλον: ἄφαρ δ᾽ ἀπεθαύμασ᾽ ὄνειρον,
βῆ δ᾽ ἰέναι διὰ δώμαθ᾽, ἵν᾽ ἀγγείλειε τοκεῦσιν,
πατρὶ φίλῳ καὶ μητρί: κιχήσατο δ᾽ ἔνδον ἐόντας:
ἡ μὲν ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάρῃ ἧστο σὺν ἀμφιπόλοισι γυναιξὶν
ἠλάκατα στρωφῶσ᾽ ἁλιπόρφυρα: τῷ δὲ θύραζε
ἐρχομένῳ ξύμβλητο μετὰ κλειτοὺς βασιλῆας
ἐς βουλήν, ἵνα μιν κάλεον Φαίηκες ἀγαυοί.
ἡ δὲ μάλ᾽ ἄγχι στᾶσα φίλον πατέρα προσέειπε:

Immediately came Dawn with her beautiful throne, who woke her up, Nausicaa of the beautiful robe. But she was surprised at the dream, and she went to go through the house in order to announce it to her parents, her dear father and mother; she found them inside. Her mother was sitting by the hearth with her serving women, twisting a sea-purple distaff; but she met her father going towards the door to join the famous chiefs in council, where the noble Phaeacians were calling him. Standing very close, she spoke to her dear father:
