Family w/ chronic inability to respond to the needs of the members or to cope w/ changes and stresses in the envt
Dysfunctional family
Excellent tool in learning family structure but with limited role in assessing family fx
Family genogram
Family assessment technique used in individuals/ small groups wherein significance/ influence of family members can be assessed
Draw a Circle Test
Rapid tool developed by Smilkstein and consists of 5 questions to assess family fx and level of satisfaction
Family APGAR
Capability of family to utilize and share inherent resources (intra/extra-familial)
Adaptation
Sharing of decision-making
Partnership
