P15.5 The generator effect Flashcards

1
Q

What does a generator contain?

A

Contains coils of wire that spin in a magnetic field

A potential difference is induced across the ends of the wire

Q

What is the generator affect?

A

If the conductor is part of a complete circuit the induced pd makes an electric current pass through the circuit

Q

Why does the ammeter pointer deflect when one end of a bar magnet is pushed into the coil?

A

Because of the movement of the bar magnet

The induced pd causes a current because the coil is part of a complete circuit
