What was the Oxygen Catastrophe?
A time period where Oxygen started to become very plentiful, thus causing many organisms to die. It is possibly the biggest extinction event of all time.
Why did Oxygen kill so many organisms long ago?
Many organisms didn’t need Oxygen, so it was actually poisonous for them.
What is the current theory of Mitochondria?
That it is a descendant of ancient Prokaryotic cells.
Why was all life in the Ocean for such a long time?
The organisms in the Ocean were more protected from harmful Ultraviolet Radiation.
What is the Snowball Period?
A period in the Earth’s history where heat couldn’t be retained, so the whole world froze over.
What is the Archean Eon?
A long time period when life first came into existence or when it started to really flourish (life might have first formed in the Hadean Eon).
