Oxygen Flashcards
How much oxygen is required?
Must provide the cabin with 4 minutes to allow aircraft to descend from 25,000 ft to 13,000 ft
Continue flight for up to 26 minutes between 13,000 ft and 10,000 ft
How much flight deck oxygen is there?
Enough to provide three crew with 120 mins
10 mins for descent from 25,000 ft to 13,000 ft and 110 mins for flight between 13,000 ft and 10,000 ft
How much oxygen does the portable oxygen bottle have?
30 mins at a cabin altitude of 13,000 ft
What is the capacity and pressure of the oxygen bottle?
2188 litres
1850 psi (reduced to 78 psi in the distribution system)
What is the minimum pressure required for flight?
1400 psi
Why does the additional crew member mask have a lengthened tube?
To allow the observer to reach the cargo compartment
What does the left door on the crew oxygen container compartment do?
Has a mechanical switch that allows oxygen flow when the door is opened
Switch automatically activates the mask microphone and disables the boom mic
What does the yellow blinker indicate?
Oxygen is flowing
What does the blue ON light on th pax supply pb indicate?
Passenger supply valve is open
How many masks are provided for the cabin?
25% of cabin occupants
When will the amber LO PR light illuminate?
When pressure downstream of the pressure reducer is below 50 psi
What does the N position on the crew oxygen mask indicate?
The mask will deliver diluted oxygen
What is the crew oxygen mask test?
Can be performed provided the MAIN SUPPLY pb is ON
Yellow cross will momentarily appear in the blinker
How long will oxygen last at 100%?
Three flight deck members for 15 minutes at demand flow
What happens to the supply when smoke goggles are used?
0.5 psi is delivered to pressurise smoke goggles and purge any smoke
Also helps to prevent fogging
