Public Organisations
Owned and funded by the government.
have Paid employees, civil servants and volunteers.
Main aim is to provide value for the funding they receive to the public.
They need to make enough money to continue operating (breaking even)
Voluntary Organisations
Mainly charities.
Funding from government grants, donations, legacies, entry fees/gift shops.
Larger organisations have paid staff but staff mostly volunteer.
Registered charities are regulated by the Charity Commission and exist for the benefit of others not profit.
Private businesses
Most tourism businesses are in the private sector.
are not under government control.
These businesses are owned by private individuals or companies.
Their main aim to make profit.
They are staffed by paid staff.

Private limited company
Public limited company (PLC)
