People should be harshly punished for mistakes Moralistic & intolerant Unforgiving Don’t allow for human imperfection No empathy for “bad/wrong” No mercy
How detect this schema?
Tone of voice
Blaming, heartless, cold, contemptuous
No compassion
What is punitiveness often linked with?
Unrelenting standards - when punish selves for not meeting they have punitiveness too (instead of just feeling imperfect)
Defectiveness - when punish selves for being defective also have it (instead of just feeling inadequate)

How does imagery work with this schema?
See and hear blaming punishing parent voice and face
Not mine
Say not my voice and face and not going to beat up on self and others anymore - punishment/blame/criticism not healthy for me in childhood and not now
What are behavioural strategies?

self or others
