Q

Overview of Cerebellum

A

It is located under the cerebrum and above the 1st cervical of the neck.

It is responsible for :

  • Muscle coordination
  • Balance
  • Posture
  • Muscle tone

Q

Overview of Diencephalon?

A

It is found betweeen the cerebrum in the midbrain. It consist of the thalamus and hypothalamus.

The thalamus directs sensory impulses to the cerebrum.

The hypothalamus controls and regulates temperature, apeptite, water, balance, sleep, blood vessel constriction and dilation.

Q

Overview of Medulla Oblongata?

A

Located at the bottom of brainstem. Connects to the spinal cord.

Resposnible for regulating:

  • Heart and blood vessel functions.
  • digestion.
  • respiration.
  • swallowing.
  • coughing.
  • sneezing.

16
Q

Function of the somatic nervous system?

A

It is responsible for carrying motor and sensory information. It is also responsible for nearly all voluntary muscle movements. Aswell as processing information from external stimuli.

It is made up of nerves connected to the skin, sensory organs and skeletal muscles.

17
Q
A
18
Q

Function of Afferent neurons?

A

takes information from the nerves to the CNS.

19
Q

Function of Efferent neurons?

A

Takes information from the CNS to the muscles fibres throughout your body.

20
Q

What is the autonomic nerves system split into ?

A

The sypmpathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.

21
Q

What is the sympathetic nervous system?

A

“Fight or Flight” revs up the body to defend or escape from a threat.

22
Q

What is the parasympathetic nervous system?

A

Brings all systems in th ebody back to normal once the threat had gone.
