What is it?

A

A complication seen in some forms of infertility treatment (rarely occurs sporadically)
- thought that the presence of multiple luteinized cysts within the ovaries results in high levels of not only oestrogen sand progesterone but also vasoactive substances e.g VEGF - results in increased membrane permeability and loss of fluid into intravascular compartment
