anything that fits the criteria of changing (increasing or decreasing) the risk of someone to develop a disease.

the ability for an organism to cause a disease.

Sensitivity
the ability of a test to diagnose a patient with the disease as postive. This will prevent any diseases getting miss diagnosed. (highier senstivity = more accuracy)
isolation
isolating people who we know are sick because of an infectious disease
quarantine
isolating people who we know are exposed to the risk factor which causes the infectious disease or the disease itself
specificity
the test’s ability to diagnose a patient’s resolve as negative. (meaning it won’t mistakenly diagnose the patient as positive) higher specificity = more accuracy
point prevalence
amount of people who are infected by a certain disease at a SPECIFIC point in time.

when everyone in a population is infected
Hyperendemic
a disease that’s constantly present in large amount in a area
Sporadic
a disease which occur extremely randomly
