other mobility Flashcards
HIMAT (high level mobility assessment tool)
Hierichal unidimensional performance measure designed to assess patients with high-level mobility problems.
EQ: 20m walkway, stopwatch, house-brick, measuring tape, 14 steps
1. walking
2. walking backward
3. walking on toes
4. walking over an obstacle (house brick)
5. running
6. skipping
7. hopping forward on more affected leg
8a. bound (onto more affected)
8b. bound (onto less affected)
9a. up stairs dependent
9b. up stairs independent
10a down stairs depdenent
10b down stairs independent
Score of 0-4 for each item of increasing ability
DEMMI (de morton mobility index)
Functional mobility assessment
15 items, score out of 19, converted to score /100
Bed = bridge, roll onto side, lying to sitting
Chair = sitting unsupported, STS, STS w/o arms
Stand = stand unsupported, feet together, on toes, tandem stand eyes closed
Walk = walk +/- GA, walk independently
Dynamic = pick pen up from floor, walk 4 steps backwards, jump
Level of assistance required is measured
Part/whole practice of impaired tasks
MASAS (mobility scale for acute stroke)
Ax of commonly performed functional activities
6 activities rated on 6 point scale
1. Bridging from supine
2. Sitting from supine
3. Balanced sitting for 3 mins
4. STS from TUG chair
5. Balanced standing for 1 min
6. 10m gait observation
1 = unable to complete, 2 = maximum assist, 3 = moderate assist, 4 = minimal assist, 5 = supervised, 6 = unassisted
treatment?
part/whole practice
Timed STS/ 5xSTS
Functional mobility Ax
How many times can the pt. STS in 10s
Or how long does it take pt. to do 5xSTS
MAS
Performance measure on commonly functionally performed activities
For all items start at 6 then go back to 1
1 = supine to side lying (roll)
2 = supine to sitting
3 = sitting balance
4 = STS
5 = walking
6 = upper arm function
7 = hand movements
8 = advanced hand activities
Don’t cue the pt. if possible, see what they do by themselves
Begin treating the impairments found in Ax
