Biography of Lemmens
He was from Belgium and studied piano with Leopold Godineau, organ with Christian Girschner, court organist of Leopold I, and composition with Francois-Joseph Fetis, the director of Brussels Conservatory. Eventually a pupil of Hesse. In 1849-69 he was the organ professor at Brussels Conservatory, where he taught Charles-Marie Widor and Alexandre Guilmant.
