What is the definition of marginal weather?
Marginal weather exists when the ceiling is within 100 feet and/or visibility is within 1/2 mile of destination published approach minimums or derived alternate weather minimums as appropriate.
What is Method 1 for deriving alternate wx mins?
Method 1: one or more nav aids, each providing straight-in instrument approach.
–Add 400 and 1 to any approach minimums
What is Method 2 for deriving alternate wx mins?
Method 2: tow or more nav aids, each providing straight-in approaches to different, suitable runways.
- -find the 2 lowest approaches first
- -add 200 to the higher ceiling and 1/2 to the higher visibility of the two approach minimums
What does exemption 3585 allow?
Grants relief from conditional remarks that allows for the dispatch of an aircraft.

How much fuel is required for each flight?
Enough fuel to fly to the destination, the most distant alternate and 45-minute reserve.
What is BURN FUEL?
Fuel used to fly from departure to destination. Includes takeoff, cruise, descent, approach and 10 miles of vectoring.
What is ALTERNATE BURN fuel?
Fuel from the destination to the furthest alternate. Includes takeoff (missed), cruise, descent and 5 miles for vectoring.
What is EXTRA FUEL?
The difference between FUEL/TO and MIN/TO minus taxi fuel.
