AOM Flashcards
What are the engine abort criteria?
No light-off w/in 10 sec after first fuel flow indications
Fuel flow drops to 0 PPH immed after light off
ITT rises rapidly toward start limit (hot start)
ITT approaches start limit (hot start)
N2 remains steady or decreases for more than 5 seconds (hung start)
Any unusual noise or vibration
Engine instruments abnormal
Visible burning
Oil pressure does not reach at least 34 psi after the engine reaches stabilized idle
When is a terminating checklist done?
When the aircraft is to be left unattended or completely powered down.
When is the after start checklist completed?
After completion of second engine start.
Note: when planning single-engine taxi , PIC discretion, the delayed after start items will be accomplished.
When may a Thruflight Setup Check be performed in lieu of s full Setup check?
Crew keeps the same aircraft
Crew members remain the same and at least one remains on board
Aircraft remains energized
No maintenance action has been taken
What are the limitations for the ALT/TO thrust mode for takeoff?
W windshear A Anti-skid inop R Runway contaminated P Performance 18 Flaps 18
What are the requirements for a low-RVR takeoff?
Whenever the departure airport meets takeoff minimums, but not PIC landing mins, a takeoff alternate is required
What is the proper response to windshear on takeoff?
Max thrust
Autopilot off
TOGA button
Adjust pitch to follow the windshear escapee guidance
Maintain present config (flaps and gear) until terrain contact is no longer a factor
When landing with a tailwind, what procedures apply?
Landing data (MRLW, MIN LDG DIST) must be used with TW/10 KT data. Must take tailwind penalties for landing.
What conditions require the use of a static takeoff (holding the brakes until full power)?
W windshear A Anti-skid inop R Runway contaminated P Performance 18 Flaps 18
