miconazole 20mg/g (daktarin) >4 months
continue for 7 days after symptoms have clear apply QDS
Doses of miconazole
4 months - 2years: 1.25ml QDS after meal
2yrs -adults: 2.5ml QDS after meal
Indigestion symptoms
Pain or discomfort in upper or lower abdomen
Burning sensation behind the sternum, feeling full nausea and vomiting
Red flags
> 45ys and 1st time
Severe pain
Persistent vomitig
Weight loss
Failed treatment >2 weeks
Jaundice
Treatment
Gaviscon >6 years
6yrs-12 yrs: 5-10ml after meals and at bedtime
Adults: 10-20ml after meals and at bedtime
Factors to consider
Pregnancy safe
If there is no improvement after 7 days patient should be reviewed and situation reassesed
Other treatments
PPIs
Omeprazole 10mg
2 tablets OD, then TDS and QDS
Symptoms improve=reduce dose
