Treatment of infected conjunctivitis

A

Chloramphenicol eye drops 5 day treatment >2yrs.
1 drop every 2hrs for 2 days. 1 drop every 4 hrs for 3 days. Then discharge. NOT in pregnancy or contact lenses.

A

Keep in the fridge before opening. After opening you can keep it out of the fridge but ideally put it in the fridge.

Bathing of the eye

A

Warm water that in pre-boiled, use cotton pad and after is bin dipped wipe from inner corner to the end and through away. Make sure you don’t use it again because it can cause rei infection

Eyelid hygiene

A

Cleanse twice a day with a warm compress for 5 minutes and you can also massage it and improve any blockage . You can do it once daily when flare up is gone.

A

Usually one eye should resolve in 2-3 day

A

Golden eye drops >12yrs. Apply 1-2 drops on the affected eye 4 times a day for 2-3 days.

A

Both eye are usually affected
Irritation soreness
They might not describe it dry

A

Hypromellose 0.3% eye drops
1-2 drops in the eyes up to 30mins.
