The “first” DO. Travelling medical salesman that had an MD. Went to “set him right” and eventually asked Still to teach him. (1892)
Littlejohn Brothers
Three brothers who all had degrees, who came in, to add to osteopathic medicine the basic sciences. HUGELY responsible for science incorporation into DO.
Marcus Ward
Early graduate of the Kirksville DO school, and started his own school (three blocks away) Columbian school of osteopathy. Went under in a few years.
Daniel David (DD) Palmer
Founder of chiropractors. Hung around with A.T. Still, where he probably picked up manipulation. Founded a separate school for chiropractors.
-Also a magnetic healer.
