What is epithelial tissue
- made up of cells
- covers surfaces and lines internally e.g blood vessels
What is connective tissue
- cells separated by extracellular material e.g cartilage, deep fascia
What is cortial bone
- bone covering the bone surface
- is the thickest in the shaft
What is cancellous bone
- looks visibly spongey
- arranged in such to absorb impact and reduce stress
Bone shapes: what is a long bone
Tubular shaped, e.g humerus, radius
What is a short bone

metaphysis; next to the growth cartilage and part of the shaft
epiphysis; end of the bone, which is covered by articular cartilage
Bone terminology: name the 6 bone projections
