Origin: Adjacent side of 2 metatarsal bones.
Insertion: Base of proximal phalange 2-4.
Action: Flexion of MTP, DIP + PIP joints of digits 2-4 + abduction.
NS: Lateral plantar nerve.
BS: Dorsal pedis artery.
Extensor digitorium brevis
Origin: Calcaneus.
Insertion: Lateral side of EDL tendons.
Action: Extension of digits 2-4.
NS: Deep fibular nerve.
BS: Dorsal pedis artery.
Extensor hallucis brevis
Origin: Calcaneus.
Insertion: Dorsal base of proximal phalanx of great toe.
Action: Extension of great toe.
NS: Deep fibular nerve.
BS: Dorsal pedis artery.
Extensor hallucis longus
Origin: Fibula + interosseous membrane.
Insertion: Dorsal base of distal phlanx of great toe.
Action: Dorsiflexion, inversion + extension of great IP joint.
NS: Deep fibular nerve.
BS: Anterior tibial artery.
Extensor digitorium longus
Origin: Lateral tibial condyle.
Insertion: Dorsal, distal phalanx of digits 2-5.
Action: Dorsiflexion, eversion + extension of DIP + PIP joints of digits 2-5.
NS: Deep fibular nerve.
BS: Anterior tibial artery.
