Pectoralis Major
Origin: Clavicle, Sternum, Costal Cartilages: 2-5, 2-6, or 1-7
Insertion: Intertubercular Sulcus (Groove) of Humerus
Action: Adducts, medially rotates humerous at shoulder joint
Innervation: Lateral/Medial Pectoral Nerves
Arterial Supply: Pectoral banch of the thoracoacromial artery
Pectoralis Minor
Origin: 2-5, 3-5, 2-4 Ribs Insertion: Coracoid process of scapula Action: adducts (protracts scapula and rotates downward, elevates ribs during forced inhalation Innervation: medial pectoral nerve Arterial Supply: Lateral thoracic artery
Serratus Anterior
Origin: Superior 8-9 Ribs
Insertion: Vertebral border/inferior angle of scapula
Action: adducts scapula and rotates it upward, elevates ribs when scapula is fixed
Innervation: Long thoracic Nerve
Arterial Supply: Lateral thoracic Artery
Subclavius Muscle
Origin: First Rib
Insertion: Clavicle
Action: Depresses clavicle, moves it anteriorly, stabilizes girdle
Innervation: Subclavian Nerve
Arterial Supply: Clavicular branch of the thoracoacromial artery
Trapezius
Origin:External occipital protuberance, superior nuchal line, nuchal ligament, spinous processes of C7-T12
Insertion: Clavicle, acromion and spine of scapula
Action: Elevate, adduct (retract), Depress scapula
Innervation: Accessory Nerve (CN XI)
Arterial Supply: Transverse cervical artery (Supplies upper 2/3) Dorsal scapular artery (1/3)
Latissimus Dorsi
Origin: Spinous process of inferior 6T vertebre, (T7-L5) crests of sacrum and illium
Insertion: Intertubercular Sulcus
Action: Extends, adducts, medially rotates humerous at shoulder joint/ dras arm inferiorly and posteriorly/raises body toward arms during climbing
Innervation: thoracodorsal nerve
Arterial Supply: thoracodorsal artery
Levator Scapulae
Origin: Superior 4/5 cervical vertebrae Insertion: Superior Vertebral border of scapula Action: Elevates Scapula Innervation: Dorsal Scapular nerve Arterial Supply: Dorsal scapular artery
Rhomboid Major
Origin: Spinous process of thoracic vertebrae
Insertion: medial vertebral border of scapula inferior to the scapular spine
Action: Elevates,addicts scapula, stabilizes scapula
Innervation: Dorsal Scapular nerve
Arterial Supply: Dorsal Scapular Artery
Rhomboid Minor
Origin: Spinous Processes of C7 and T1 vertebrae
Insertion: Medial border of scapula superior to scapula spine
Action: Elevates, retracts scapula, stabilizes scapula
Innervation:Dorsal Scapular nerve
Arterial Supply: Dorsal Scapular Artery
Deltoid
Origin: Acromial Extremity, Acromion and spine of scapula
Insertion: Deltoid Tubersoity
Action: Abducts arm, medially rotate, extend and laterally rotate arm
Innervation: Axillary Nerve
Supraspinatus
Origin: Supraspinous Fossa of scapula
Insertion: Greater Tubercle
Action: assist deltoid in initial abduct
Innervation: ssprascapular nerve
Infraspinatus
Origin: Infraspinous fossa
Insertion: Greater tubercule
Action: Laterally rotates arm
Innervation: Suprascapular nerve
Teres Minor
Origin: Middle Lateral border of scapula
Insertion: Greater Tubercle
Action: Laterally rotates, adducts arm
Innervation: Axillary nerve
Teres Major
Origin: Inferior lateral border of scapula
Insertion: Intertubercular sulcus
Action: adducts, medially rotates, extends arm (dorsally)
Innervation: Lower subscapular nerve
Subscapularis
Origin: Subscapular fossa
Insertion: Lesser Tubercle
Action: MEdially Rotates
Innervation: upper/lower subscapular nerve

Insertion: Tuberosity of radius/bicipital aponeuronsis
Action: flexes at elbow, powerful supinator, flexes arm
Innervation: Musculocutaneous
Brachialis
Origin: Humerous
Insertion: Ulnar Tuberosity/Coronoid process
Action: Flexes forearm
Innervation: Musculocutanerous
Coracobrachialis
Origin: coracoid process
Insertion: shaft of humerus
Action: flexes, adducts
Innervation: musculotaneous
Triceps Brachii
Origin: infraglenoid, humerous, (superior, inferior of radial groove)
Insertion: olecranon of ulna
Action: Extends forearm, extends arm
Innervation: Radial
