Vision
The vision of an organisation is the “dream that it has for its future”
The ultimate goal or reason for the existence of the enterprise
Mission
The mission of an organisation differs from its vision in that it tends to focus on the question:
“what business are we in and what do we want to achieve?”
Values
Values are subjective. Every person has a different set of values or beliefs.
Policy
A policy is the board of guidelines of enterprise, which guides the managers and the workers in making decisions.
Importance of the policy documents
- The policy statement set limits of behavior.
- The policy statement recognizes the needs of all employees
- The policy statement emphasizes the inter-dependence of all employees
- The policy statement recognizes that workers are important to the enterprise
*The policy statement recognizes the rights of workers and obligations of managers
Importance of organisation policy on human resource development
*Provides criteria and basic guidelines for developing procedures for dealing with manpower within the enterprise
*addresses the needs of individual within the enterprise.
* Makes provision for housingg aand for educational programmes for employees
*aims to promote and preserve the dignity and self-esteem of all emplyees
*Develops and maintains open lines of communication and personal contact between the enterprise and the employee.
