Unit of hereditary genetic material composed of a segment of DNA , usually has a specific function, passed down from generation to generation

The science of the study of inheritance based on the laws proposed by Gregor Mendel
What is Modern Synthesis?
Deals with Neodarwinism, as well as orgasnisms are individuals who will reproduce and the genetics of their population will change over time

- phenotype- involved the characteristics of the image of the organism

What is preformationism?
The theory that an organism is preformed at conception in the form of a miniature adult
