Fxn: protects from external environment, produce vitamin D, retains water, regulates body temperature

Fxn: supports body, protects organs, supports movement, produce blood cells, stores calcium salts
muscular system
organs: skeletal muscles
fxn: movement, controls openings, generates heat
nervous system
organs: brain, spinal cord, nerves
fxn: regulate body fxns, sensations/ movement/ automatic fxns/ higher mental fxns
endocrine system
organs: ovaries/testes, pineal gland, hypothalamus, pituitary gland, thyroid, thymus gland, adrenal gland, pancreas
fxn: body fxns, muscles/glands through secretion of hormones
cardiovascular system
organs: blood vessels, heart
fxn: delivers Ox poor blood to lungs and ox rich blood to organs, removes CO2 waste from tissues
lymphatic system
organs: tonsils, lymph nodes, thymus, spleen, lymphatic vessels
fnx: returns excess tissue fluid to cardiovascular system
respiratory system
organs: nasal cavity, pharynx, esophagus, trachea, lungs
fxn: delivers oxygen to the blood, removes CO2 from the body, maintains acid base balance
digestive system
organs: mouth, salivary glands, esophagus, liver, stomach, gall bladder, pancreas, large/small intestine
fxn: digest food, absorbs nutrients into blood, remove food waste
urinary system
organs: kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra
fxn: removes metabolic waste from blood, fluid/electrolyte/acid base balance, blood cell production
male reproductive system
organs: prostate gland, ductus, deferens, testes, penis
fxn: sper, secretes hormones, sexual function
female reproductive system
organs: breasts, fallopian tubes, ovaries, uterus, cervix
fxn: oocytes (eggs), fetal development, childbirth/lactation, hormones, sexual function
