Right Hypochondriac Region
Below (hypo-) the ribs (-chondra) on the right side; includes the liver
Epigastric Region
Above (epi-) the stomach (-gastric); includes liver and stomach
Left Hypochondriac Region
Below (hypo-) the ribs (-chondra) on the left side; includes liver, stomach, and spleen
Right Lumbar Region
Location of the lumbar vertebrae on the right side; includes part of liver, large intestine, and small intestine
Umbilical Region
Located in the center of the nine regions, named for location over belly button (umbilical cord); includes stomach, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, large intestine, and small intestine
Left Lumbar Region
Located where the lumbar vertebrae are on the left side; includes stomach, spleen, large intestine, and small intestine
Right illiac (inguinal) region
on the right side over the iliac portion of the hip; includes large intestine, small intestine, and appendix
Hypogastric region
Below (hypo) stomach (gastric); includes bladder, small intestine, and a little bit of large intestine
Left iliac region
Over the iliac portion of the hip on the left side; includes large intestine and small intestine
