Directly south of Willamette Valley. Warmest conditions in Oregon.

Columbia Valley AVA. East of the Cascades in it’s rain shadow. Irrigation with river water is therefore is a necessity.

It lies entirely within Columbia Valley AVA.
What makes Columbia Valley a prime grape growing area?
Long daylight hours, consistent summer temperatures. Fruit obtains optimal ripeness due to sunny days; cool nights maintain acidity. The problem is winter freezes.
What are the most important reds in Columbia Valley?
Plummy, full-bodied Merlot and elegant, age-worthy cab’s. Full-bodied, intensely concentrated Syrah.
What are the most important whites in the Finger Lakes area?
Chard, with toasty notes from oak. Dry riesling with ripe stone fruit flavors.

Riesling, Chard, Pinot and Cab. Most known for Rieslings.
