To the east of Entre-Deux-Mers.

Good valued botrytised sweet wines made from Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.

To the east of Bordeaux on either side of the river Lot.
What is the most important variety in Cahors?
Malbec. With lesser merlot and tanat.
Describe a premium wine from Cahors?
Aged in oak, deeply colored, high tannins, intense, dark berry fruits. Cedar and earth on maturity.

Ugni Blanc with aromas and flavors of green apples.
Just north of the Pyrenees is the Madiran. The principal variety in blends from the Madiran is what?

The complex sweet wines made from the high acid Petit Manseng. The grapes undergo passerillage. They have pronounced apricot and grapefruit aromas, sometimes with spicy notes from new oak.
