Are normal in lining of mucosa, overgrowth of ectopic sebaceous glands
What is hyperkeratimised
It’s when non keratinised epithelium and transform into keratinised in response to frictional or chemical trauma, It is reversible if the cause of the trauma is removed but it can take time for the keratin to be shed.
Where would you expect to see hyperkeratinisation
In areas or the oral cavity covered in lining mucosa because it is non-keratinised.
